WebYou get it seemingly randomly. In Dark Souls it was from somebody kindling a bonfire in your area. In Dark Souls 3 you get it after killing some enemies which I presume to be based on luck. I assume it works similar to the "random" Dark Souls 1 soft humanity that you would gain every now and then. Probably.
